Alison Hammond is said to be 'top of the list' in the eyes of Big Brother bosses when it comes to who they want to host the new series, while many fans are calling for Rylan Clark to get the job.
There was great excitement when, during the Love Island final earlier this month, ITV dropped a huge bombshell by confirming that they were bringing it back to screens, four years after it ended on Channel 5.
It's been over two decades since Big Brother first launched on UK television, then on Channel 4, with Davina McCall as host for 10 years, before it made the switch to Five. But, while Davina, who has gone onto front Long Lost Family for ITV, may seem like the obvious choice to be presenter of the reboot, it's being reported by The Mirror that it is in fact former contestant Alison who's the frontrunner.

A source said: “Alison is top of the list to present next year’s Big Brother. Execs think she’s exactly what the show needs. She’s energetic, fun, relatable and she was on the show, so she knows it inside out.”
Alison was in the Big Brother house for one of its most memorable series in 2022. The third series of the show also featured eventual winner Kate Lawler, now Radio 1 DJ Adele Roberts and the late Jade Goody. Many fans were surprised that Alison went so early on in the series, having been up for eviction against Alex Sibley and Sandy Cumming.
But, she has had the last laugh, going onto be a successful TV host on This Morning, where she is now one of the daytime show's regular presenters, as well as being one of the stars of BBC Saturday night hit I Can See Your Voice.
While, there will no doubt be plenty of support for Alison to land the Big Brother host job, many fans have identified Rylan Clark as their number one choice for presenter. Rylan also has the backing of Big Brother narrator Marcus Bentley who described him as 'the perfect choice' in a recent interview.
