Alison Hammond has reportedly been supported by Holly Willoughby following her rumoured split from her partner.
It's been speculated that the presenter, 48, has split from Ben Hawkins - whom she was said to have been dating - after she seemed to confirm such on ITV 's This Morning.
This included her announcing last week that she's "single." She stated such whilst discussing dating show Romance Retreat, which is looking for "vibrant single parents".
It's now been claimed that Alison has been "heartbroken" over the end of her relationship and it's further reported that she has received support from colleague Holly, 42.
A source told Closer magazine : "Alison is very good at putting on a brave face, but she really has been heartbroken by this agonising break-up." They said she has wanted to "hide under the covers" at times but has been motivated by work.
It's also claimed by the source that Holly - who's been a colleague of Alison's on This Morning since 2009 - becomes an 'agony aunt' when her pals are experiencing heartache.
The source said: "She's been helping to lift Alison's spirits by not only being there for her to talk to and a shoulder to lean on, but by instilling her with confidence and helping her focus on how many positive things she has in her life."
They added that although the pair have "never been best friends," Alison "has been touched" by Holly's support - which is said to have included almost daily texts and invitations to come over for wine. It's said to have been "therapeutic" for Alison.
The source claimed there have been nights where the pair have "talked things through" on the phone. They said Holly's helped remind Alison how much she has to look forward to.
This includes Alison having recently been unveiled as the new co-host of the Great British Bake Off. She joins Noel Fielding, 49, and replaces departing host Matt Lucas, 49.
Alison sparked speculation that she's no longer in a relationship on This Morning last week. Whilst discussing upcoming show Romance Retreat, her co-host Dermot O'Leary, 49, teased that she could apply and Alison responded: "Well I am single, I'm single!"
Alison further hinted that she's single during a segment on the show earlier this week. It came during a discussion about dating, when she teased over wearing a "single ring".
She said: "More people are wanting to meet people out and about and having a green ring might be a good idea so that people know that you're single. As you can see, I've got my single ring on."
The speculation comes following reports last month that Alison and Ben had got engaged. She later addressed such speculation, saying it was "fake news" and that she would be the first to announce it if she was engaged.
