Alison Hammond admits true feelings about This Morning co-star

Alison Hammond admitted how she feels about her This Moring co-star after they shared the "best day ever" together.

The Birmingham presenter usually only appears on the show on Fridays, but ahead of tonight's National Television Awards, she joined Holly and Phil on the sofa for a look back at the "best bits" of her time on the daytime programme.

Alison gushed about how honoured she is to be nominated for the TV Presenter gong at the NTAs, alongside Ant and Dec, Sir Graham Norton and Bradley Walsh.

She said: "It's an honour to be nominated, I know everyone says that but I really mean it. There's Bradley Walsh, Graham Norton and our Geordie duo and I feel like I'm just sitting in the middle like 'you alright babs?'"

Alison added that if she wins, "everyone wins", and that she is doing it for "all the normal people" like her.

The conversation then turned to Alison's co-presenter Dermot O'Leary. Alison's face lit up at the mention of his name, before she admitted she "loves him so much".

She said: "Dermot came to my house the other day, I just love him so much. He is my partner in crime, I think he's amazing.

"He came down, I cooked him some chicken, rice and peas. He said 'can I have the recipe?' I said no you can't!".

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and the ITV Hub
