Taking cognisance of a wall collapse at Bakoli village near Alipur on Friday that killed five labourers, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has suspended two officials.
"The assistant and junior engineers have been placed them under suspension," the civic body stated.
"We had carried out demolition action on April 22 and wrote to the police station concerned not to allow construction activity there. On July 13, our officials visited the area and noticed that the construction was still on. A notice was issued to the property owner," an MCD statement said.
An official said the inquiry would look into why the construction continued even after a notice was issued to the owner.
