Jets offensive lineman Alijah Vera-Tucker is expected to miss time with an injury suffered in Sunday’s win over the Broncos, but there is optimism that it is just a calf injury and not an Achilles injury.
Buy Jets Tickets#Jets OL Alijah Vera-Tucker is expected to miss time with a calf injury, but there is optimism heading into the MRI that it’s a calf and not an Achilles, sources say. Often it’s obvious heading into the MRI if an Achilles is torn — that does not appear to be the case here.

A sigh of relief for sure for the Jets. Head coach Robert Saleh said after the game Sunday there was concern on the injury, which led some to start fearing the worst. This news seems to point that Vera-Tucker avoided major injury.
His absence would likely mean Max Mitchell stays at right tackle in his place as he did during the game Sunday. The Jets will also soon be getting rookie Carter Warren on the 53-man roster whenever they decide to activate him from injured reserve.
