Alia Bhatt reacts to nepotism debate; says she is privileged but never takes her work for granted

Alia Bhatt recently reacted to the debate around privilege and nepotism in Bollywood. The actress said that she acknowledges it and never takes her work for granted.

In an interview with an international magazine, the actress opened up about the existence of privilege and nepotism in the industry and said it has definitely come up a lot in conversation over the last couple of years. The actress said that she understands that it’s possibly been easier for her to get through the door than maybe the next person. Alia also added that she acknowledges the fact that she has gotten that head start. She acknowledges the fact that she does have that privilege, which is why she gives 100 per cent every day and she never takes her work for granted. According to her, the only thing she can do is keep her head down and keep working.

The year 2022 was a special year for Alia. The actress delivered three back-to-back hits - 'Gangubai Kathiawadi', 'Brahmastra' and 'Darlings'. She got married with the love of her life, Ranbir Kapoor in April in an intimate wedding ceremony and also welcomed her first child, a baby girl last year.

Now, she is awaiting the release of her upcoming film, 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani' co-starring Ranveer Singh. The Karan Johar directorial also features Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi in key roles. The film will hit the theatres in July this year.

Apart from this, Alia will also be seen making her Hollywood debut in 'Heart of Stone' where she stars alongside Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan. She is also a part of Farahan Akhtar's 'Jee Le Zaraa' with Priyanka Chopra and Katrin Kaif.
