ALGS Year 6 Split 2 has finally begun. Starting with Group Stage matches, the next few weeks of Apex Legnds will determine who makes it to the Playoffs this October in Las Vegas.
After UNLIMIT took the trophy at the Split 1 Playoffs at the Esports World Cup back in July, it’s finally time to kick off games once again. Group Stage matches (split up by the Americas, EMEA, APAC South, and APAC North regions) take place from Aug. 21 to the Regional Finals on Sept. 13.

Group Stage Standings – Week One
The first weekend of pro league matches have wrapped up, showing which teams are performing best so far. For the Americas, Brainrotting is currently on top of the pack after a strong start on Friday, while fan favorite teams like Team Falcons performed surprisingly poorly throughout the entire weekend.
For EMEA, the competition has been incredibly close with the top two team – Alliance and Bandits – only a single point away from each other. The situation is similar in APAC South with GenG Esports and Wolves Esports at 43 points and 42 points respectively. In APAC North, however, one team is clearly dominating the lobbies with Zeta Division holding an almost twenty points lead over second place.
For the teams that haven’t performed well, there are still plenty of matches to come back in before the regional finals in September.

How to watch the ALGS Split 2 matches
Fans can watch the latest split of the Apex Legends Global Series through both official channels and watch parties. Most fans of the esports tend to tune into the B-Stream featuring NiceWigg and Greek for more unfiltered commentary on matches and team performances.
ALGS Split 2 Groups & Teams
40 teams will advance through the Group Stage and Regional Finals to the Playoffs in Las Vegas, which means plenty of teams will be cut before October. Here’s how many teams will advance from each region:

ALGS Prize Pool & Rules
While the Playoffs this October in Las Vegas has its own prize pool, the regional finals allow players to compete for not only a cash prize but also qualification points at the ALGS Championship. The prize pool is $500,000 USD, split four ways so each region competes for $125,000.
Like all earlier ALGS matches, Year 6 Split 2 uses both POI Drafting and a Legend Ban system to prevent restrictive metas from forming throughout the series.
