Former Rangers defender Alan Hutton has blasted Alfredo Morelos for 'throwing his toys out of the pram' at Ibrox.
The Colombian looks set to leave Glasgow at the end of the season with his contract up and no fresh terms agreed on a new deal. Morelos has contributed hugely to Rangers since joining for £1m in 2017 from HJK Helsinki but has found his role in recent times diminished due to injury and fitness issues alongside the factor of Antonio Colak's emergence under Michael Beale.
Beale himself alluded to the fact Morelos' future is in the balance but Hutton reckons talk of him leaving has been the case for a while but that only recently has the 26-year-old shown signs of packing it in. The former Aston Villa man also claims Morelos isn't ready to fight with Croatian Colak for his place anymore.
Hutton told Football Insider: “When you look at the last couple of seasons there has been a lot of chatter about him leaving. Then Colak came in and he had the injury, missed the [Europa League] final.
“Part of me thinks that he thought he was going to be first choice as soon as he was back fit.
"It did not work out that way and it seemed like he kind of threw his toys out the pram a little bit when he did not come in as the main guy.
"In recent weeks we have seen him playing at a better level, a better standard and it looks like he is looking after himself. But, is he up for the fight with Colak? Only he can tell us that.”
