Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has reportedly been "offered" to Inter Milan as the striker's agent Alejandro Camano looks to seal a pre-contract agreement.
The Colombian has enjoyed a run in the Ibrox starting line-up following the arrival of Michael Beale after falling out of favour under Gio van Bronckhorst, with both Antonio Colak and Kemar Roofe struggling for fitness since the arrival of the Londoner to the Scottish Premiership. While netting four goals since his second chance under Beale, the 26-year-old has struggled to find his best form and peak fitness this term with his contract set to expire in the summer.
It leaves Rangers sporting director Ross Wilson with a tough call over the Ibrox talisman as he weighs up a January sale or offering the player a new contract, but Camano is reportedly looking to take the decision out of the Light Blues' hands. Italian outlet Sportmediaset report that Morelos was top of agenda when the agent met with Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio this week.
Camano appears to be attempting to negotiate a move away from Serie A for Argentina World Cup star Lautaro Martinez at the end of the campaign. The report suggests Morelos has been offered as a solution to Inter if a pre-contract move can be agreed.
Asked about the meeting with the Inter chief in Milan, Camano was playing his cards close to his chest over which players were on the agenda. He said: “It was just a courtesy visit. I have several players as clients, and I just came here to talk about football. I won’t name any names, Piero is aware of the transfer market and evaluating players.”
