Defiant Alfredo Morelos insists he will prove his doubters wrong after a sluggish start to the season with Rangers amid injury issues and questions over his attitude.
The Colombian has been on the fringes of the Ibrox squad so far this term with summer recruit Antonio Colak securing his spot as the first-choice striker for The Light Blues. Gio van Bronckhorst sensationally left the Colombian out of the squad to face PSV during their Champions League playoff clash, challenging him to ramp up his fitness to win his spot back in the starting line-up, but has since offered Morelos a lifeline.
He was handed his first start of the season in the group stage showdown with Napoli at Ibrox, but was again dropped to the bench during Rangers ' clash with Dundee United. The 26-year-old failed to make an appearance during the visit of the struggling Tannadice side, as he watched Colak net a double to secure a much-needed Scottish Premiership victory.
He also received heavy criticism from former Ibrox hero Neil McCann, who insisted the striker's social media presence and clips from the gym were "annoying him". However, that hasn't deterred Morelos who came out swinging in an Instagram post.
He shared a snap of himself in action during the clash with the Serie A league leaders last week. He added the caption: “I will go against everyone who thinks I won’t make it, even against myself if I ever doubt it.”
