Alexis Mac Allister Hints At Future Liverpool Exit

Alexis Mac Allister has hinted his long-term future may not be with Liverpool as he revealed ambitions of playing in Spain.

The midfielder, 25, has become an integral part of the Liverpool team since his £35m move from Brighton last year.

However, he has left Real Madrid, Barcelona and other Spanish teams on high alert with a recent admission to the Spanish press.

He made his mark on a Spanish team by scoring against Real Madrid in Liverpool’s recent 2-0 Champions League victory over the Spanish giants.

Mac Allister Reveals Future LaLiga Ambitions

Liverpool star Mac Allister has revealed that he ‘definitely would’ like to play his football in Spain in the future.

When asked by AS if he would be open to a move to Spain, Mac Allister said: “Yes, why not?

“It’s a country I like a lot and I’ve visited it several times, and, above all, because of the language and the culture, it’s very similar to Argentina.

“I would definitely like to play in Spain one day. But right now, I’m very comfortable at Liverpool and I don’t think about what might happen in the future.”

Liverpool have seen several players leave for Spain during the Premier League era.

That list includes fellow South Americans including Luis Suarez, Javier Mascherano and Phillipe Coutinho.

Mac Allister will miss the chance to play in Spain on Tuesday as he is suspended for Liverpool’s Champions League clash with Girona after picking up too many yellow cards.

Mac Allister’s Contract Situation

Any move for Liverpool star Mac Allister could be pricy should a club from Spain come calling.

According to Transfmarket, the 25-year-old is valued at 75 million euros (£62m).

Unlike team-mates Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, he also a lengthy contract until 2028.

Since joining from Brighton, he has scored nine goals in 67 appearances for the club.
