Former USMNT defender Alexi Lalas believes this week could prove to be Jesse Marsch's last as Leeds United manager. The under fire Marsch takes his Leeds outfit to Anfield on Saturday after their winless run in the Premier League was extended to eight against Fulham last weekend.
Marsch is now coming under increasing pressure from the club's supporters, with them not afraid to make their feelings known in the last two matches against Leicester City and Fulham. But the American has been shown some faith by the board this week as he is set to take charge of Leeds' trip to Liverpool.
Should he remain at the helm until the World Cup break, he will also face fixtures against Bournemouth and Tottenham. However, speaking on his State of Union podcast, Lalas thinks the away match at Liverpool could well be his last as manager of Leeds.

He said: "First off, some context – there’s no shame in losing to Fulham, a solid and good team and most people would look at it as a better than Leeds. Jesse Marsch, his job is to keep this team up this year. A team like Fulham, you at least want to go get a point.
"When it comes to Leeds right now and Jesse Marsch, yeah, he is under pressure and rightfully so. Not because he is an American coach, but because he is a coach in a situation where they are trying to get somebody that can steady the ship and keep them in the league.
"I don’t know if and when they were to pull the plug but the shouts when it comes to fans out there have gotten loud. This could be the last week that we see Jesse Marsch. Even though Liverpool is not Liverpool of old, it's still Liverpool."
