Lanus defender Alexandro Bernabei was shown a straight red card for a HEADBUTT as a move to Celtic edges closer.
The 21-year-old is one of the names on Ange Postecoglou ’s wanted list but his club Lanus value him at around £4 million.
Record Sport understands Celtic are keen to land Bernabei for around half of that fee and reports in Argentina suggested a deal could be close.
If this is his last appearance for the club, he signed off on a sour note after a shock incident during the 1-0 win over Colon.
Bernabei reacted angrily to opponent Santiago Pierotti in the 69th minute.
The left-back threw his head into the face of his opponent before the rival tumbled to the ground.
He was shown a straight red card in what could be his final action in Argentinian football ahead of a move to the Scottish Premiership.
Bernabei had missed the last three games as speculation over a move to Europe ramped up.
Postecoglou is keen on adding a new left-back for the club's Champions League push and to provide competition for Greg Taylor.
