Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez gives egg freezing cost update as she criticizes US healthcare system

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has shared more about the financial realities of egg freezing, saying she paid roughly $9,000–$10,000 for the process, including clinic fees and prescription medications.

The US congresswoman pointed to France, where "egg freezing is free for women between 29 and 37”.

In a video released on Monday (24 August), she said: "It is criminal how horrifically our healthcare system treats women."

AOC first revealed in a previous video that she decided to freeze her eggs at 36, saying it helped her "feel more in control of my life."
