Alexander Isak has been linked with a move to Arsenal for some time now, but the Gunners will have to fight off competition for his signature from Manchester United in the summer transfer window it seems.
According to the Daily Mail, Isak is one of the names on United's wish list, having impressed at Real Sociedad over recent seasons.
While he has only found the net eight times this campaign, the Swedish international has huge potential and with United in the market for a new striker, they could battle Arsenal for his signature.
Arsenal have been reluctant to trigger his reported £75m release clause thus far, and therefore didn't pursue a move in the January transfer window. However, the Gunners will be desperate to strengthen the forward role in the summer, especially following Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's departure at the end of last month.
Nevertheless, the Swede has already spoken out about his future and has insisted that he is committed to the La Liga outfit for now.
He told Mundo Deportivo, as cited by the MEN: "I am not talking about other clubs. I am a Real player, I work here and this is my club.
"My work is on the pitch, and as I told you before, there are other people who work outside.
Although Isak, out of respect for his current club, has refused to be drawn on speculation, he has refused to rule out the prospect of leaving the La Liga outfit in the future.
"You can never be sure of anything," added Isak.
"As I always say, you never know what can happen in football but in the end I'm here, happy, and nothing more."
Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah's likely departures will free up space in the Arsenal squad for at least two forwards next season, and Isak may just be an ideal replacement.
