Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni has claimed that he has not been made aware of any interest in him as Tottenham Hotspur and Man United aim to seal a deal for his services.
The two Premier League clubs have been linked with a move for the Italian, the pair keen to bolster their defensive options ahead of the new season. Spurs boss Antonio Conte has worked with the centre-back in the past and is anxious to be reunited with his former player in north London.
Elsewhere, new Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag has recently been linked with a swoop for Bastoni as United aim to improve the defence that saw them hugely struggle under Ralf Rangnick last term.
Amid reports over his future, Bastoni has finally broken his silence but has claimed that he has not been told about any bids and is instead focusing on next season with Inter. Speaking after the Italian national side’s 2-1 UEFA Nations League victory over Hungary, he said: "I am an Inter player. I have a two-year contract with Inter.
“The club has not communicated anything to me. I go on vacation after the national team, and then I start again with Inter."
In the meantime, Bastoni’s agent Tullio Tinti has claimed that the defender is happy at the San Siro despite interest in his services from the Premier League. Speaking with SportItalia, he said: “He is certainly a big fan of the team he plays for, so he will happily remain at Inter.

“However, he is also a professional. This is football and he has to adjust. It’s clear he is very happy to play for Inter and feels this jersey like a tattoo on his skin.”
Bastoni, 23, was a key player for Inter Milan last season as the Italian club were just edged out in the race for the Serie A crown last term. He made 44 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring once in a 2-1 win against Lazio back in January.
His form for Inter has also led to regular recognition on the international stage with the centre-back having accumulated 14 appearances for the Italian national side. He could potentially be set to face-off with a few of his future potential teammates later this week with England welcoming the Euro 2020 champions to Molineux on Saturday evening.
Harry Maguire is of course a key player for Gareth Southgate ’s men and could be lining up alongside Bastoni should he complete a move to Old Trafford. Spurs forward Harry Kane is another Three Lions key man that could link up with the defender and recently racked-up his 50th international goal during the 1-1 draw with Germany in Munich on Tuesday evening.
