Aldi is warning shoppers not to be taken in by fraudsters offering £200 gift cards on social media sites.
The retailer issued the warning through its own Facebook page, telling customers that posts offering such gift cards were not legitimate. Aldi then warned people not to share their details with anyone and to report any fraudulent activity to the authorities.
Aldi said: "We are aware of current fraudulent posts circulating on social media advising that Aldi is giving away a £200 gift card. Please be advised that these are not legitimate and are not affiliated with Aldi.

"We strongly recommend that you do not share any of your personal details. If you have already shared any of your personal information, we would advise that you contact Action Fraud to report this."
The warning has been shared by hundreds of followers, with some saying there were also other similar scams circulating on social media involving other supermarkets.
One person commented: "Thank you for letting us know BUT it is not only Aldi, they do it to Tesco and Morrisons have had the same scam." Another added: "If it sounds too good to be true it usually is."
A third wrote: "It’s extremely sad that some people actually fall for these scams and lose a lot of money!". And a fourth person said: "I think all the supermarkets have this one going round."
