Aldi shoppers have slammed the supermarket on social media for rising prices across a range of everyday groceries, including bottles of oil and cheese.
One furious shopper took to the Aldi UK Shoppers Facebook page to ask if the budget supermarket was "having a laugh" after they noticed a bottle of sunflower oil was selling for £2.
It comes as shoppers have been hit with rising prices at the supermarket due to soaring rates of inflation and the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine. The prices of oil, including vegetable, sunflower and olive, were hit as Ukraine is one of the biggest producers of the cupboard staple.
One shopper slammed the price of Aldi's bottle and wrote: "A bottle of sunflower oil; £2 are they having a damn laugh?". Hundreds of other users responded to the post fume at the "unbelievable" prices they had noticed in the supermarket lately.
"Mild cheddar was 1.79 and now 2.39. Unbelievable", responded one angry shopper.
"I noticed this yesterday. Unreal for 400g", agreed another.
"I bought olive oil yesterday. £3.49. I do know it used to be a lot cheaper.", responded a third.
"I noticed a big increase in the 3 packet of peppers too", replied a fourth.
"Noticed the price hike yesterday Aldi will end up just as expensive as everywhere else at this point it seems unavoidable", fumed a fifth.
Another shopper even admitted that they choose not to shop with Aldi due to their prices being "ridiculous".
Despite the criticism from shoppers, there were many who were quick to jump to Aldi's defence. Many of them replied that the supermarket was still offering the cheapest prices for their groceries when compared to the Big Four.
The concern over Aldi's rising prices comes after the discounted retailer was named the cheapest supermarket for the month of August in the monthly Which? price comparison. They have currently held the title for three months in a row, beating out rival Lidl.
