Aldi shoppers praise £30 electric blanket that costs 'pennies a night to run'

With the cold weather snap still here and the cost of living still soaring, many of us will be looking for ways to keep warm without racking up the heating bill.

Which is why many have been turning to purchasing heated throws, hot water bottles and draught excluders in a bid to keep their energy bills down this year.

One such cost-effective item that gained a rise in sales last year are electric blankets - and it looks like Aldi has one of the best buys that shoppers can find on the market.

The budget supermarket chain recently announced its new "Heat your home for less" range which will include the King Silentnight Electric Blanket for just £29.99.

Also available for single and double sized mattresses, the energy-saving blanket comes with a convenient single control, three different heat settings for your comfort and an overheat protection.

Silentnight experts have previously advised that electric blankets cost as little as just 1p per night to run, so Aldi's blanket offers a cost-saving alternative to heating the whole home.

And you don't just have to take our word for it, as the blanket has since managed to garner glowing reviews from impressed shoppers who praise it for keeping them warm for less.

"An amazing, affordable, must have product this winter. Order and delivery was perfect and I wouldn’t be without my electric blanket during winters. Buy without second thoughts as you won’t regret", exclaimed one shopper.

"Bought this about 2 weeks ago & am very impressed with it. 3 levels of heat & warms up quite quickly. And the best thing is it costs just pennies a night to run!", commented a second happy shopper.

"Very good, a warm bed helps keep the heating costs down and is welcoming now the winter is here", exclaimed a third.

Aldi will be selling the Silentnight Electric Blanket in single, double and king sizes in-stores as part of its Specialbuys on Sunday, January 8.
