Aldi has launched its own version of TikTok's favourite dish. The supermarket now sells chicken and pork gyros for a taste of Greek tradition.
The popular savoury treat sees meat served wrapped or stuffed in pita bread, along with salad, tzatziki and sometimes chips. In what Aldi says is a supermarket first, it is is serving up chicken and pork varieties in its stores across the country.
Gyros are hugely popular on TikTok, with 179 million views of videos tagged #gyros. Aldi says of its at-home version: "Aldi’s new Oakhurst Gyro comes with a mouth-watering seasoned seared meat of c hicken or pork , a tangy tzatziki sauce and two soft pitta breads. all made in Greece for the ultimate authentic taste.
