An egg-citing job is up for grabs at Aldi as the supermarket hatches a search for the nation's biggest chocolate lovers.
The retailer is once again looking to poach Chief Easter Egg Tasting Officers to help them with next year's range. Open to applicants of all ages, the only criteria is a love for sweet treats and new flavours, with three lucky people set to be chosen for the role this year.
But this job is no yolk - it involves a series of official tasks including sharing your thoughts on the taste, texture and appearance of the range. Among this year's mouth-watering Easter offerings at Aldi is a peanut butter surprise egg, a rocky road drizzle egg, and a wildflower egg hand-decorated with edible pearls.
To apply, hopefuls will have to fry - we mean try - their hand at creating a short audition video explaining why they would be egg-ceptional in the role. Anyone hoping to whisk up the best application might also want to mention examples of their favourite Aldi chocolate, as well as and any other sweet stories that will set them apart from the competition.
Julie Ashfield, managing director of Buying at Aldi, said: "Recruiting a panel of egg tasters provides us with a fantastic opportunity to engage with real Aldi shoppers. The feedback we have gathered from past chocolate lovers has been invaluable in helping our buying team curate this year’s Easter range, which boasts an exciting range of new shapes, colours and flavour combinations."
Last year saw 10-year-old Connor Ewujowoh from Sunderland selected as one of the three chocolate lovers who landed the dream job after wowing Aldi with his audition video. Connor described the supermarket's Caramel Crunch and Jive bars as his favourite ever chocolate, quickly winning the judges over.
If you think you'd be an egg-cellent fit, record your video, which should be around a minute long, and email it to aldichiefeggofficer@clarioncomms.co.uk. Anyone hopping to get this job will need to scramble to get their application in by the deadline on March 15.
