An Aldi manager's insider shopping tips
The best day to scoop Aldi Specialbuys
Sometimes shoppers can be left disappointed when they head to the store only to discover the weekly Specialbuys in the middle aisle have all sold out.
According to Gallagher, following the store's “when it's gone, it's gone” policy is the best way to guarantee getting an item. Gallagher stressed that popular items aren't guaranteed to come back.
He added that it is best to rush to stores as soon as they are launched every Thursday and Sunday of the week.
The day Aldi releases new offers on meat
Another good way for Aldi shoppers to save money is to check out the "Fresh Weekly Offers" every Thursday on its range of meat and fish which allows you to get the best fresh produce deals.
When products are marked down
Sometimes, shoppers can find 30%, 50% or 75% discount stockers on certain products at various points throughout the day as they approach their 'use by' or 'best before' dates.
Furthermore, if the packaging is imperfect then cupboard staples such as pasta, rice, tinned goods and cereal are also reduced by 30%.
The colour of discount stickers
Instead of the usual yellow stickers that a lot of supermarkets use, Aldi uses red stickers as its discounted labels, so you should make sure to look out for these as you pass through the store.
The times Aldi shops are quietest
The best time to do a shop according to Gallagher is Tuesday, particularly before 10am and after 6pm.
Every Aldi supermarket has the same hours
Gallagher also explained that every store no matter where is open until 10pm each night, Monday to Saturday and open until 8pm on Sundays.
