Aldi launches cake-inspired candles ahead of Great British Bake Off return

Calling all baking fans, as budget supermarket Aldi has just launched a range of candles that feature the mouth-watering aromas of some of your favourite sweet treats.

The popular German grocer's unique new line-up is available to buy as part of their iconic 'middle aisle' section - collectively known as Specialbuys - meaning fans can get that home baked fragrance without the messy kitchen to match.

Priced at just £2.79 each, there is a scent to match any palette and taste, whether you are looking for something a bit more indulgent, moreish or sweet.

For the chocoholics there is the Chocolate Cake scent, sweet-toothed fans will have the goods with the Salted Caramel scent. And, if you're a traditionalist, then there are the Lemon Drizzle and Victoria Sponge scents.

What's even better, is that you won't be tempted to devour the entire cake in one go, seeing as the candles are only mimicking the scent of the iconic sweet treats.

Aldi has said that its four pastry fragranced candles will have a burn time of around 45 hours, so you can fill your home with the warm and comforting fragrance of baking for quite a while without even touching the oven.

Available to buy now, the comforting and wholesome candles have arrived perfectly in time for anyone who is gearing up to watch The Great British Bake Off on telly tonight.

The hit baking reality show launches its thirteenth season at 8pm tonight on Channel 4 and it will see 12 amateur bakers face off to win the Paul Hollywood seal of approval with their baked goods.

The return of Bake Off is sure to incite baking frenzy among the general public whose enthusiasm for the show has seen it become one of the biggest shows on British television right now.

Aldi's £2.79 cake-scented candles are available to buy in stores as part of their Specialbuys now.
