Aldi in hot water with angry shoppers over Jubilee opening hours

Budget supermarket chain Aldi has found itself in hot water with shoppers who have complained about its Bank Holiday opening hours. The retailer has come under fire after explaining what times it will be opening and closing over the Jubilee Bank Holiday.

Posting on social media, Aldi confirmed that store opening times will remain the same for the duration of the Bank Holiday. Meanwhile, Tesco and ASDA have both altered Superstore opening hours to close at 8pm instead of 12am on Bank Holiday Thursday and Friday to allow staff to celebrate the Jubilee.

Lidl and Sainsbury's stores will be closing at 8pm instead of 10pm on Bank Holiday Thursday and Friday. Morrisons stores will be closing at 10pm as usual. Aldi's post read: "We're open for the Jubilee Celebration! Make sure you head down to get all your essentials for the weekend! Our normal opening hours will remain in place this Bank Holiday weekend."
