Aldi implements strict rules for Prime shoppers as KSI and Logan Paul's hydration drink hits stores

The hard to get Prime drinks have landed in Aldi stores once again, however this time the usual chaotic queues were missing due to a change made by the supermarket. The hydration drinks have often caused massive commotion, which have led to shoppers ‘climbing over each other’ to get their hands on it the last time it hit shelves.

The drink landed in Aldi stores nationwide on Tuesday (April 18) and at least outside the Aldi in the Manchester Arndale, there were only a handful of shoppers queuing outside just before its opening at 8am.

Aldi announced it was stocking all six flavours of the popular drink created by internet sensations KSI and Logan Paul, while stocks last for just £1.99.

Signs were set up at tills that were opened just to sell Prime (MEN)

This time, the supermarket added a new measure to ensure there was a more organised manner of buying the product which is much loved by young people.

Shoppers entered the city centre Aldi bright and early but were confused when they couldn’t find the viral drink on shelves.

After a few minutes scouring the store in hopes to find the brightly coloured bottles, Prime fans noticed there were specially set up tills to dish out bottles of the hydration drink.

The tills were marked with signs that read “Prime only till - 1 of each flavour per person”, which prevents bulk buying, ensuring a fair chance for customers to get some.

Stacks of Prime were stored behind tills (MEN)

Behind the tills were hundreds of bottles of Prime in flavours which included Meta Moon, Tropical Punch, Blue Raspberry, Lemon and Lime, and Ice Pop. Noticeably, the new Limited Edition Orange and Mango flavour was missing from that particular Aldi.

Customers then had to request what ones they wanted to buy as they lined up at the tills in an orderly manner.

This seemed to be the case in other stores across the country as many shoppers reported that Prime was not stocked on shelves, but controlled by staff.

"Aldi Bracknell has loads of prime, but they are keeping it out back and you have to queue by the warehouse door for a member of staff to grab them for you," @callumjrogers tweeted.

@C1888_1967 said Prime was also stocked behind tills at Aldi Cumbernauld retail park other shoppers reported a calm experience and "very short queues" while trying the buy the drink, with @EMattholie tweeting: "well done to the fabulous staff at Aldi Bishop’s Stortford - great service - all calm this morning!"

@COCOPOPS777 tweeted: "my local Aldi at 9am no madness plenty of stock."

If you trying ringing Aldi's customer service line to check stock availability on the hydration drink, an automated message says: "If your call relates to Prime energy drink, we're unfortunately unavailable to check stock availability for you.."

Aldi advises customers to check their local store at their earliest convenience.

As the product is a Special Buy, the products are only available while stock lasts and although there were no massive queues in this store, it's predicted to still sell out.

On Monday (April 17), the supermarket said: “The drink will be a Specialbuy – and as with all Specialbuys, once they’re gone, they’re gone!

“After the drink’s last stint in the supermarket saw high shopper demand, a purchase limit of one of each flavour per customer has been set to ensure as many people as possible get the opportunity to buy Prime.”
