Owners left in stitches over very rude Aldi dog toy on sale for £2.99

Aldi has left people in stitches over its "offensive" dog toy that "will land somebody in A&E".

The budget supermarket has released a £2.99 SpecialBuy for dogs - but owners have raised issues with its X-rated design.

The corn on the cob-shaped dog toy is ribbed and has a suction cup allowing owners to stick it anywhere in their home.

A Twitter post, shared by Extreme Couponing and Bargains, reads: "Aldi are selling sweetcorn -shaped DOG toys for £2.99. Good emphasis on the DOG there guys."

While most users laughed at the design, others jokily dubbed it 'offensive', especially if brought into a family home.

One user joked: "What in the name of Ann Summers is this," while another added: "Ribbed for extra pleasure".

A third user said: "I'm sure A&E will be seeing lots of these."

Similarly, another added: "You just know someone is going to end up in A&E saying they tripped up at this accidently got lodged in their rear end!

"Some people just can't train their dogs to put away their toys properly."

It comes after the supermarket's Peppa Pig ice cream left shoppers in hysterics over its strange-looking hand.

Shopper Simon Linney bought a box of six Peppa Pig ice cream lollies for his children from an Aldi supermarket in Stanley, County Durham, for £1.49.

He sent in an amusing snap of the lolly to The Mirror, saying: "Thought this might get a giggle.

"I bought these Peppa Pig ice creams from Aldi. Since when did Peppa have a high penis?!

"My four-year-old wouldn't eat all of the ice cream as we had been laughing at it."

Manufactured by Icefresh Foods Ltd in Slovenia, the ice cream is meant to show the popular children's TV character's profile.

In the image on the box, the ice cream Peppa is smiling and the X-rated detail is in fact her arm, with three fingers on the end.

But the fingers seem to have melted into one on Simon's lolly.
