Albion Rovers boss Brian Reid admits he was relieved his side weren't among the League Two sides to crash out of the Scottish Cup as they needed extra-time to see off Glasgow University.
Division rivals Bonnyrigg Rose and Stranraer succumbed to Sauchie Juniors and Fraserburgh, respectively, as Rovers headed into extra-time in Airdrie, but a three-goal blitz in the additional period ensured they didn't add to the list of second round scalps.
Glasgow Uni forced extra-time when Cameron Murray's 48th minute header cancelled out Callum Wilson's 20th minute opener for Rovers at New Broomfield.
However, a Charlie Reilly penalty in 102 minutes put Rovers back in front before substitute Amaury Testa and a Tom Reid own goal in the second half of extra-time saw Rovers safely through to Monday's third round draw.
And Reid said: "It was an uncomfortable afternoon for us.
"You see there were a few shocks. A couple of teams in our division went out, so you can't underestimate any team.
"Glasgow Uni were well organised and made it tough for us.
"The first half was the story of our reason so far. We were careless in front of goal.
"My goalie hasn't had a save to make and the first thing he does second half is pick the ball out of the net.
"That's always the danger but fair play to Glasgow Uni, I won't take anything away from them.
"They were stuffy and dug in. They made it difficult, they threw bodies on the line and their goalkeeper has come away with some great saves, but we could have made it a bit easier for ourselves than we did.
"We got there in the end and that is the most important thing. We are in the next round so we will take it, but it's obviously a frustrating day going to extra-time.
"We wanted to get the game finished and, with the chances we had, it should have been. A win is a win.
"I think maybe a wee bit more experience in our team saw us through."
Charlie Reilly netted for the seventh time in nine games but Reid was pleased to see others get among the goals.
He added: "It was good to see Callum get off the mark with a well-taken goal and then Amaury chips in as well.
"You always want to see others chipping in with goals. We had a number of chances but the we just need to make sure we are more clinical in front of goal. That's something we need to improve on."
Rovers are now in the hat for the third round draw on Monday when League One and Championship sides enter the competition.
Asked what he'd like to see from the draw, Reid said: "You always want to be at home against a side you feel you have a chance against.
"But every game is difficult at this level. We'll just enjoy the day and look forward to the draw.
"It's important for a club like Albion Rovers to get a wee cup run. It means a lot to us in terms of a financial boost and a boost for the players as well.
"Hopefully we can get a decent draw now and keep progressing."
