Alastair Seeley and Alex Olsen hit with points penalties following 'physical altercation'

Carrick rider Alastair Seeley has been hit with a points penalty following a heated confrontation with British Superstock rival Alex Olsen.

The pair exchanged blows following a collision on the 11th lap of Monday's Race 1 at Oulton Park.

Seeley was carried onto the gravel by Olsen at Lodge corner as the pair diced for the lead, an incident which ended both riders' race.

The pair then became embroiled in a brief yet heated exchange which saw both men exchange blows before stewards intervened.

And now both men have been hit with penalties.

Olsen was issued three points for the manoeuvre at Lodge corner and another three points for physical altercation. This takes him to six points which means he will start the next race from the back of the grid.

Co Antrim rider Seeley was also issued three points for physical altercation.

Olsen told Eurosport after the race: "I didn't really know much about it (the collision). We were strong into that turn and everyone seemed to be a bit slower than me.

"He kept guarding the right hand side so I knew I had to make a bit of a lunge on him. I thought I was on the inside and he just clipped me.

"I don't know if he saw me, but I tried to keep us both upright as much as I could. I wasn't expecting a full fight in the gravel.

"I am sure we are going to get our wrists slapped."
