Alan Shearer has labelled Luke Ayling's foul on Gabriel Jesus as 'stupid' following Leeds United's 4-1 defeat against Arsenal on Saturday.
Ayling mistimed his challenge inside the box before bizarrely dangling out a leg and connecting with Jesus' knee. Jesus converted from the spot to break Leeds' resistance inside 35 minutes. Ben White added a second against his former club and Jesus bagged his brace just before the hour-mark.

Rasmus Kristensen reduced the deficit 14 minutes from time but Granit Xhaka restored Arsenal's three-goal lead in the final 10 minutes. And Shearer was left dumbfounded by Ayling's challenge on Jesus.
“I don’t know what Luke Ayling is doing,” Shearer told BBC Match of the Day.. “It’s a stupid challenge there. He actually kicks him in the knee, so yes, absolutely the right decision (to award the penalty).”
Leeds stayed out of the bottom three despite the heavy defeat and now face a huge week which starts with Nottingham Forest at Elland Road on Tuesday evening.
