Alan Shearer has credited the influence of Eddie Howe's 'brilliant' substitutions during Newcastle United's 2-1 win victory over Brentford. Newcastle trailed 1-0 at the break after Ivan Toney converted from the spot, after previously missing a penalty earlier in the first half.
Howe responded by introducing Callum Wilson and Anthony Gordon at the expense of Sean Longstaff and Jacob Murphy respectively at the break.
The Magpies came from behind to register a fifth win on the spin and reclaim third spot from Manchester United in the Premier League table.

Shearer tweeted: "Great win for the Toon. Much better second half. Eddie's changes at HT were brilliant."
Joelinton broke inside from the right and saw his effort from an acute angle take a telling deflection off Brentford goalkeeper David Raya.
Raya was subsequently awarded with an own goal, and Alexander Isak continued his remarkable run of form with an unerring finish into the top corner in the 61st minute.
Isak has now scored five goals in as many games in the Premier League and extended his season tally to eight goals.
Wilson later had a goal ruled out for a handball, but Newcastle marched to victory, and leapfrogged Man United on goal difference.
