Alan Shearer mocks Gary Lineker after BBC sex noise blunder in TV 'moment of the year'

NUFC legend Alan Shearer had a bit of light hearted fun with his co-host Gary Lineker in the wake of absolute 'chaos' caused by explicit noises heard during the BBC's live FA Cup coverage.

The two England legends were left in search of composure, after sexual noises were played out loud while Lineker previewed the replay between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Liverpool.

The 62-year-old Leicester born legend only just managed to control his laughter, while a sheepish Shearer, 52, was seemingly oblivious to the agonisingly loud noises.

Soon after kick off, Lineker discovered the noises came from a phone that was taped behind one of the pundit chairs, and in the wake of the chaos, Shearer saw the funny side by having a cheeky little jab his co-host.

Lineker was in his usual hosting position for the contest, while Shearer was on co-commentary duty. The NUFC icon laughed: "At least they had control of things in the studio at half time. See what happens when I leave the studio. Chaos.”

The BBC has already issued an apology about the utterly bizarre situation.

Their statement began: “We apologise to any viewers offended during the live coverage of the football this evening. We are investigating how this happened.”

And while the BBC took the upmost seriousness with regards to the instance, many fans on social media saw the funny side of the blunder.

"Offended? This will be the TV moment of the year," one fan wrote on social media, while another, added: "If anyone’s seriously offended by what happened they’ve clearly got nothing else in life whatsoever to be angry about."

"This was brilliant tv... please don't apologise, we all need a laugh at the minute," said another fan who may still be cackling at the incident, while another viewer, penned: "Don't apologise it was the greatest piece of TV ever."

In and amongst the palpable embarrassment, Liverpool managed to overcome Wolves and secure their place in the fourth round. Harvey Elliott's wonder strike from around 30 yards out was enough to beat Julen Lopetegui's side at Molineux.
