On the night before they announced Byker Grove's big comeback, Ant and Dec were among the guests at a private party in Newcastle, hosted by football legend Alan Shearer.
On Tuesday morning, the TV presenters caused great excitement when they confirmed that the much loved CBBC drama is being rebooted, 17 years after it ended. Ant and Dec will play a key role in the show's return, as their production firm Mitre Studios team up with Sunderland based Fulwell73 to give it a new lease of life for a new audience and its loyal fans from back in the day.
But before they broke their big Byker Grove news on Tuesday, the Britain's Got Talent hosts were among the invited guests who attended an event held by legendary Newcastle number nine Alan, who, not longer after hosting a gala night over in Gateshead, featuring a star turn from Sam Fender, took over plush city centre haunt Above, for what he described as an 'unforgettable night' in aid of his Foundation.

Uploading a few snapshots from the night onto his Instagram grid, Alan wrote: "Another unforgettable night for the #alanshearerfoundation. It was my great pleasure to sit and talk (and sing ) with the legend/iconic @theofficialsting For him to give up his time during his World Tour says what a man he is."
