Alan Shearer believes Armando Broja needs time at Chelsea if he's to become a regular starter at Stamford Bridge. The Albanian spent last season on loan with Southampton and impressed in the first-half of the 2021/22 campaign before his form tailed off.
Thee 20-year-old has been repeatedly linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer, with Newcastle United, West Ham and Everton among the sides chasing his signature. Broja is believes to have asked for assurances over his playing time, and with Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner leaving the Blues this summer, he's the only out and out striker at the club.
However, Thomas Tuchel's side are reportedly interested in a move for Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, which would move Broja further down the pecking order. That could potentially work in Newcastle's favour if they were to pursue a move for the Albanian.

Speaking about Tuchel's side on Match of The Day, Shearer said: “I think they've made some very good signings. But, like Everton, there is no doubt that Chelsea need that [centre] forward as well.
"I know they've got [Armando] Broja, but it might take time for him, and in the meantime, they've lost [Romelu] Lukaku, they need [to bring in] a centre-forward."
