The Traitors US landed on BBC iPlayer today - and host Alan Cumming shared some behind-the-scenes clips from the stateside spin-off series to celebrate it airing in the UK.
The X-Men actor posted a series of photos to Instagram, enjoying the remote scenery of Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands, where the show is filmed. Cumming, 57, was photographed sitting on an outdoor chair draped in blue tartan, as he looked out of binoculars while someone held an umbrella over his head.
Cumming wrote: "The Traitors drops today in the US and the UK and so here are some moments from behind the scenes. Becoming a psychological reality competition show host was not on my radar but I am so glad I was asked to do this."
He added: "Thanks to my faithful assistant @judithglue and everyone at @studiolambert and @peacocktv for making it the best time!"
The UK series, which aired last year and was hosted by Claudia Winkleman, became an overnight sensation, with Scot Meryl Williams taking home the jackpot alongside Aaron Evans and Hannah Byczkowski. The Traitors proved a huge hit for BBC and has been streamed more than 28 million times.
Just like the UK series of the same name, the cast will take part in challenges allowing them to reach a prize pot worth up to $250,000 (£205,000), as well as trying to determine who is or is not a Faithful contestant.
The cast features a host of stars including Below Deck icon Kate Chastain, Real Housewives’ Brandi Glanville, Survivor stars Cirie Fields and Stephenie LaGrossa, and Big Brother’s Cody Calafiore and Rachel Reilly. Ordinary people from across the United States will also be thrown into the mix.
Fans have been taking to social media to praise the US version of the show, as it aired to streaming services today. One wrote: "Two minutes in to The Traitors (US) and it's the same setting and all the same tasks - just with different people! A binge watch ahead, I think. #TheTraitors #TheTraitorsUS #TheTraitorsUK."
"Watching The Traitors US version with the wonderfully evil Alan Cummings..," penned another while a third gushed: "Woah that was a whole masterclass #TheTraitorsUS"
Another fan tweeted: "*NO SPOILERS* - Just want to say I LOVE this show. Had me hooked from episode 1! #TheTraitorsUS #TheTraitors," while a fourth said: "#TheTraitorsUS is so funny its like they've taken an example of each American stereotype and shoved them in the castle together!"
"#TheTraitorsUS Just watched the first episode. There goes my weekend! And what a traitorous way to spend it. Thanks @BBC," wrote another. Someone else said: "Am as exited to see what tartan #alancummings will be wearing as I was #claudiawinkleman jumpers."
However, not everyone seemed to enjoy the new show: "Hmmm, 10 mins into US Traitors and almost everyone seems to be an ex-reality tv star. It felt like one of the main strengths of the UK version was that most of them were relatively normal."
The American version of The Traitors will arrive on BBC iPlayer from Friday 13 January, with all episodes available to binge at once.
