Alan Carr is set to replace David Walliams as a Britain's Got Talent judge, according to reports.
The Chatty Man star has reportedly been appointed to replace the Little Britain star after rumours started circulating that Walliams would be stepping down from the judging panel. In November, it was reported that Walliams future on the show was 'up in the air' before he was caught in a public scandal.
The same month leaked recordings caught the BGT judge calling an elderly performer on the talent show the C-word three times. According to a transcript leaked to the Guardian, the children's author also said of a female contestant: "She’s like the slightly boring girl you meet in the pub that thinks you want to f*** them but you don’t."
His comments were picked up by a microphone used to record chats between him and fellow judges at the London Palladium in January 2020. Following on from the scandal, it has been reported that fellow comedian Alan will be taking Walliams' place.
Alan, 46, who is best known for his Channel 4 series Alan Carr: Chatty Man, has apparently landed the role as bosses believed he would be the perfect addition to the team alongside Simon Cowell, 63, Amanda Holden, 51, and Alesha Dixon, 44.
A source close to the ITV show said of Alan: "Alan is hilarious but also kind. He tells a mean joke but he is also soft in the middle. The bosses are already excited about how wonderful he will be with the contestants.
"He will complement the panel so well too, he is really close friends with Amanda and he has known Simon and Alesha for years too. Everyone involved in the show is so excited and they can’t wait to get started," they told Mail Online.
A TV insider added to The Sun : "Alan is joining the line-up, it just has to be him he’s brilliant. The deal is being finalised, but it’s details now – and he’s totally up for it too. It’s the perfect hiring all round."
