Alan Carr's weight loss diet was inspired by friend and music superstar Adele

Chatty Man Alan Carr is well known for his bubbly personality. In 2020 he dropped a significant amount of weight and shared exactly how he did it.

The comedian lost weight in 2020 and was inspired by his friend singer-songwriter Adele to do so. And he has seemingly managed to keep the weight off since.

The host of Channel 4 ’s Alan Carr: Chatty Man, shocked fans in August 2020 when he showed transformative images of himself online. It didn’t take long for fans to flood Alan’s comments, praising his weight loss.

Good friends with singer Adele who has also lost weight in recent years, Carr shared that he was inspired by the ‘Easy On Me’ singer to embark on a weight loss journey. He, therefore, started to follow Adele’s diet.

Speaking to the Sun about his 2020 weight loss, he said: ‘‘I have been on a weird diet of a 1,000 calories. Adele looks great and she has inspired me."

In order to achieve his weight loss, Carr, like Adele, reportedly restricted himself to 1,000 calories each day, and also followed the Sirtfood Diet. To successfully follow this diet, you’ll need to eat certain “sirtfoods”, which include kale, red wine, strawberries, turmeric, chillies, coffee, and dark chocolate. The benefits of these foods in relation to weight loss mean that you can produce sirtuins, which ultimately lead to losing weight.

If you’re following the Sirtfood Diet, it’s advised that you should also drink three green juices per day. Other celebrities who have followed this diet include Jodie Kidd and Lorraine Pascale.

According to Healthline, the Sirtfood Diet may work for weight loss because the foods are low in calories. However, they also note that weight may still build up again once returning to normal eating.

The NHS does not recommend following extremely low-calorie diets unless advised to do so. The recommended daily calorie intake for men is 2,500 and 2,000 for women.
