Celtic diehard Alan Brazi l insists he is happy that Rangers will join the Scottish champions in the Champions League group stage - as he offered special praise to Ibrox midfielder Tom Lawrence.
Antonio Colak's goal proved vital against PSV Eindhoven as the Croat secured a 3-2 aggregate victory as well as the £30million jackpot awaiting the Ibrox side when they rub shoulders with Europe's elite for the first time in a decade. It's the first time since 2007 that Scotland has had two representatives in the group stage of the Champions League, with both Gio van Bronckhorst and Ange Postecoglou keeping an eye on Thursday's draw.
On the talkSPORT Breakfast Show Brazil claimed he has no problem with the Ibrox side joining the Scottish Premiership champions, insisting he is glad to see Scottish football back among Europe's heavyweights. When put on the spot about how he feels about Rangers reaching the group stage by fellow pundit Gabby Agbonlahor, he said: "I haven't got a problem with that.
"I think for Scottish football it's good, I really do. Big nights, something to talk about. Obviously I want Celtic to go further and that's the way it is. I can't wait for the draw. There is a real good chance that Celtic or Rangers will draw one of the English teams."
Brazil also praised the addition of Lawrence and tipped him to shine at Ibrox after impressing again in Eindhoven. He added: "I watched Derby vs Ipswich a few years ago and for me Lawrence was head and shoulders the best player on the pitch. I think it's a good signing for Rangers."
