According to NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero, former Alabama quarterback Bryce Young has canceled the remainder of his pre-draft visits with just days until the 2023 NFL draft.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter noted last week that Young visiting teams other than the Carolina Panthers was a waste of time. Young had planned on visiting the Houston Texans who currently hold the No. 2 overall pick.
It’s safe to assume that if Young doesn’t feel a need to meet with Houston, he must have some assurances from the Carolina Panthers that he will be the No. 1 overall pick.
Young is one of four and possibly five quarterbacks projected to go in the first round. Young has been neck and neck with Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud for much of the season and offseason for which quarterback will end up on top. If Young is locked in at No. 1, the discussion now comes down to whether the Texans will take Stroud of possible Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson.
