Al Michaels is one of the best play-by-play announcers in sports history, and he continues to do a great job each week on Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime.
But he’s also human, and he’s going to make mistakes—just like we all do. Michaels did just that at the start of the third quarter of this week’s Vikings-Eagles game when he got his stadiums confused and welcomed fans back to Veterans Stadium. That legendary former home of the Eagles was closed in 2003 and demolished in 2004.
Michaels called a bunch of games at that legendary venue back in the day, and for a second, he took all of us back there:
