Ajax are reportedly drawing up plans to target a move for Chelsea flop Hakim Ziyech if Antony completes his long-awaited transfer to Manchester United.
The Brazilian is one of United's top targets as Erik ten Hag looks to boost his attacking options. But a deal has proved difficult to facilitate, with Ajax reluctant to allow their star winger to depart the Johan Cruyff Arena.
It was reported last week that the Red Devils had failed with a £67million bid for the 22-year-old, though they could make an improved offer. If he does depart for Old Trafford, that will leave a hole in Alfred Schreuder's squad.
It is a hole that the Eredivisie side will almost certainly look to fill and they could turn to a former player to do so. According to De Telegraaf, if Antony departs, Ajax will focus on bringing Ziyech back to Amsterdam.
It is stated that their intention is to bring the attacker back in on a loan deal, with an option to buy included. He joined Chelsea in 2020, but has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.
He seemingly has no place in Thomas Tuchel's plans, having been left on the bench for both of their two Premier League games so far. The Moroccan enjoyed a highly successful four year spell at Ajax before joining the Blues.

He scored 49 goals and notched an astonishing 81 assists in his 165 games for the Dutch giants. That helped them to win the Eredivisie title, the KNVB Cup and reach the semi-finals of the Champions League.
But a return to Ajax will likely depend on Antony joining United, a deal that appears to be in the balance. The Brazilian has made an effort to push through a departure in recent days, speaking highly of Ten Hag.
“What I can say is that I want to come to the right decision with my family, business partners and Ajax, which is good for everyone. I am very happy at Ajax, I have a contract until the summer of 2025 and I will give everything for this beautiful club for every second," he said.
“If we all decide that I will stay here, then I know that this is the best thing for me and the club. It’s not like I have to leave. Now I am focusing on playing football and have put all other matters in the hands of my agents and my brother. They will advise me on what is best.
“Erik has been super important to me. I am grateful to him and wish him all the best. I will always cheer for Erik after working so closely together. I have not been able to celebrate or cheer for him as he got no points yet.
I couldn't until now anyway and that makes me sad. But knowing Erik, I am convinced that he will turn the tide soon. Manchester United will improve at his hand. At his previous clubs he has proven that his method works.”
