People travelling from UK airports will notice huge changes as they go through security under a new government plan.
The Government has set a June 2024 deadline for all airports to install new security technology, which will eventually mean the 100ml rule on liquids is scrapped. Passengers will, in future, be able to leave liquids and large electrical items in cabin luggage as they go through security, reducing hassle for passengers
Changes will come in gradually over the next two years, with current rules continuing to apply. Passengers are advised to check with airports and airlines before travelling.
