Airdrie 6 Montrose 4 (Agg: 6-5): Diamonds mount unbelievable comeback to reach Championship play-off final

Airdrie Montrose Diamonds Callum Smith Gabby McGill Jon Afolabi Calum Gallagher Craig Johnston Rhys McCabe Cammy Ballantyne

Airdrieonians mounted an absolutely sensational comeback to stun Montrose and book their place in the Championship play-off final after a 10-goal thriller.

The Diamonds trailed 1-0 from the first leg after Craig Johnston's strike gave the Angus side a slender advantage and found themselves 3-0 down in the tie before the most unbelievable scenes at New Broomfield.

Cammy F Ballantyne's first half brace looked to have put Montrose - who finished a huge 13 points behind Airdrie in League One this season - well on their way to booking a place in the final.
