A dad visiting Merseyside was baffled when Airbnb suggested Dublin and Glasgow were good places to visit "in and around" Formby.
Carl Jones, originally from Southport but now lives in the West Midlands, booked an Airbnb in the town but was shocked at accommodation website's suggestions for what to do nearby. The 38-year-old noticed that the company offered places "in and around Formby" that turned out to be hundreds of miles away.
The dad, who was taking his young son to visit family, took to Twitter to share the odd recommendations. He posted: "Wasn’t sure what to do with my two days in Formby, Airbnb has made some suggestions though to save the day… highlands in the morning and a bit of Dublin or Leeds for my tea. Thanks Airbnb."

Attached to the tweet was a screenshot of the website where it listed a number of locations "around" Formby, despite almost all of them being hours away. The locations listed were: Scottish Highlands, Inverness, Portrush, Dublin, Belfast, Manchester, Skye, Fort William, Galway, Liverpool, Glasgow and Leeds.
Carl told the ECHO: "I’m from Southport, now live in [the] West Midlands, bringing my lad to Southport for a bit of good weather seaside fun. He’s two.
"The plan is pinewoods to see the squirrels, the [sea] front in Southport and visiting his 92-year-old great nan. No time for Isle of Skye or Dublin unfortunately, but next time I’m in the area… I’ll look them up!"
Airbnb was approached for comment.
