Air Traffic Controller suggests baby name after woman gives birth on plane

  • A baby was born mid-flight on Caribbean Airlines Flight 005 while en route from Kingston, Jamaica, to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) on Saturday, 4 April.
  • The pilot informed air traffic control at JFK that a passenger had given birth and requested medical assistance upon arrival.
  • An air traffic controller jokingly suggested the baby be named 'Kennedy' due to the airport's proximity.
  • The pilot responded positively to the suggestion, stating he would pass it on to the mother.
  • Upon landing, both the mother and the newborn baby received immediate medical attention from personnel at the airport.
