Air ambulance and police called to Nottingham building site after medical emergency

Police have been called to a building site in Nottingham after a workplace injury. The force received reports of the injury at the site in Chiltern Way in Bestwood just after 11.30am on Wednesday, April 6.

An eyewitness also told Nottinghamshire Live they saw paramedics and and air ambulance at the scene this morning. Police say an investigation has now been passed to the Health and Safety Executive who will now carry out their own investigations into what happened.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman said: “We were called to a building site in Chiltern Way, Bestwood, at 11.32am today to a report of a workplace injury. Officers attended and the investigation has been passed to the Health and Safety Executive, who will now investigate the circumstances.”

An East Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We received a call at 10.28am on 6 April to a commercial address in Bestwood. The caller reported a medical emergency. We sent a paramedic in a fast response car and a crewed ambulance. The air ambulance was also in attendance. One patient was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre via crewed ambulance.”
