Designer eyewear group Inspecs has said strong starts to the year from some of its recent acquisitions helped it to increase revenue.
The AIM-listed company, which is headquartered in Bath, agreed deals for German frames distributor BoDE Design and global design and licensing company Ego Eyewear in December.
In a trading update for the three months to March 31, 2022, the group reported a “strong performance” for Q1, generating revenue of $75.1m (£59.7m) - up from $67.2m (£53.4m) a year earlier.
Inspecs, which designs, manufactures and distributes frames and lenses to a network of opticians and retailers spanning 80 countries, said a rise in organic growth of existing entities had also contributed.
It added it was set to provide a more detailed update on its progress, including the continued integration of BoDE Design and Ego Eyewear, when it presented its final results on May 19.
Inspecs previously said it expected its international expansion to be “earnings enhancing” for 2022, with a set of results for the year to December 2021 seeing group revenue of $241m (£178.5m), up from $47.4m (£35.1m) in 2020.
Inspecs' global operations also include offices in Portugal, Scandinavia, the US and China, as well as a manufacturing site in Italy.
