Aiden McGeady understands he's possibly going to get stick on the road with Hibs - but he's happy to play along, even if he doesn't understand the hype around his signing.
The 36-year-old winger is back in Scottish football for the first time since leaving Celtic in 2010, joining from English League One club Sunderland, where he worked with current Leith boss Lee Johnson. He's not played competitive football since last November which has added to his confusion over a 'marquee' arrival label.
In an interview last month, he revealed every kick he made was booed - and sometimes worse - at certain away grounds. But McGeady insisted to the Daily Record that he's happy to take that on, as the main thing for him is to focus on returning to peak condition after his knee problem: “How am I a marquee signing at 36 on a free transfer? I know what I’m capable of but I just never thought I’d be a marquee signing.
