Aidan Sezer injury latest as Leeds Rhinos halfback closes in on return

Aidan Sezer is the latest Leeds Rhinos star closing in on a return to action having returned to light training. The halfback has returned to training after being left on the side lines with a groin injury.

Sezer hasn't featured for over two months, despite the injury initially described as being minor. He remained on the side lines as they defeated Warrington Wolves last week and is likely to miss the match with his former club, Huddersfield Giants, this Friday.

However, head coach Rohan Smith admitted progress was being made and he had stepped up his rehabilitation. "Yeah, he's getting close," Smith said. "He's back, not in full training but some team training."

Meanwhile, Smith admitted it was satisfying to see his players with smiles on their faces during the closing stages of the win over Warrington Wolves. His squad have endured turbulence this year but put the Wire to the sword on Friday.

"Before there were too many points on the board they looked like they were enjoying it," he said. It's a funny game, in the combat sport we have they've got to fight within that, they're under such duress in the game, a few moments in the game you might as well take them to enjoy them."
