Lions EDGE Aidan Hutchinson was dominant against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 1, even if the stat sheet didn’t necessarily reflect it. After logging the NFL’s best pass rush win rate in Week 1 but only netting one sack, Hutchinson quickly bolstered the stat sheet against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 2.
Hutchinson bagged three sacks on Bucs QB Baker Mayfield in the first quarter. No. 97 recorded a sack on each of Tampa’s three drives, two of them on third downs. The first of Hutchinson’s sacks also created a fumble that forced the Buccaneers to kick a short field goal in the red zone.
The outburst gives Hutchinson a Lions team record for sacks in a four-game stretch. Hutchinson now has nine sacks in Detroit’s last four regular-season games. No Lions player has ever done that before.
