AI turning vital to healthcare, need to prepare doctors to use it responsibly: NMC chairperson

National Medical Commission

Noting that artificial intelligence is already becoming an integral part of healthcare, National Medical Commission chairperson Abhijat Sheth on Saturday said the real challenge lies in preparing doctors and healthcare systems to use the technology responsibly and effectively.

Addressing the national conference HealthAIcon 2026 here, Sheth said Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption in healthcare must evolve in an ethical, safe and equitable manner, aligned with clinical realities.
